Youth work in schools (FastTrack program)

Important information

JYSS has a youth worker at Warwick Senior High School to assist the school staff working on the FastTrack program.

This is a new stream of JYSS services which is delivering outstanding outcomes for the school and the student. The school is finding that having a professionally trained youth worker is an excellent engagement tool for their at-risk students.

The program assists Warwick SHS to work with students who are disengaged from school and chronically absent as well as those students who are identified as at-risk of disengaging.

The aim is to assist these students address the personal and social issues in their lives responsible for their disengagement and link them back into school or into another education or employment placement that is suitable to their needs and goals.

We are hoping to extend the program to other schools in need within the North Metropolitan area.

Access Information

The program is currently only available to young people who are students at Warwick Senior High School.
