Important Information
Emergency Relief (ER) enables young people aged 15-24 years from the northern suburbs access a small amount of financial support if they are experiencing unforeseen difficult circumstances.
Most often support takes the form of a food voucher or smartrider for public transport. Yet in special circumstances assistance may be provided for other purposes.
In the past 6 months JYSS has provided ER to 217 young people, many of whom are homeless, unemployed, ex-offenders or refugees. The majority of ER clients are indigenous and we aim to link them into appropriate support services to assist them address their long-term needs.
Access Information
ER is available by appointment on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00pm – 2:30pm.
