Important Information
TINOCA is a crisis accommodation service in the Perth northern suburbs for young people 15-19 years old who are unable to reside in their family home or last abode.
TINOCA has the capacity to accommodate 6 young people at one time (3 males and 3 females). A JYSS youth worker is on-site with young people at all times.
Young people are able to stay at TINOCA from a period of one night to three months depending on their situation. During this time they are actively supported to address the personal and social issues in their lives that are responsible for their homelessness.
The goals of TINOCA are to provide these at-risk young people with safe and secure accommodation in the short term, while supporting them to acquire appropriate long-term accommodation.
TINOCA is the only crisis accommodation hostel in the Perth Northern suburbs that provides safe and secure accommodation to at-risk young people.
In the 08/09 financial year TINOCA provided safe, supported accommodation to 115 young people, of which 100% were provided with short-term accommodation, meals, showers and informal support. Just under half of these young people were also assisted to find long-term accommodation as well as take on education, employment and/or training opportunities.
As a note TINOCA has an unmet demand of 85% that is stable month-to-month. For the 08/09 financial year, this indicates there were over 700 referrals and requests for accommodation, however due to resources we were only able to accommodation 115 clients.
Accessing This Service

TINOCA accepts donations and support from all community members and values the impact these contributions have on the lives of the young people we support.
